just wanna ask if you know how to make led mod sound reactive on the audio output so that every time i use headset it will glow, unlike the sound reactive connected directly on d speaker itself, coz most of the time i use headset sometimes i use 2.1 speaker. tnx

you just have 2 look for any supply between 3-5v on the board, if you use 5 volts use 40 ohm resistor , 3v no need to put resistor, you can find the power points at the power switch , tnx

It is simple. I haven't done it to a slim but I've done it to other things. It's not that bad. If you're a noob at soldering/modding I couldn't recommend it as your first mod though.

im still a noob at doing this so would i be able to do a trigger mod just by wireing a led to the speaker itself or would i need to solder a led to the speaker?

yes, i personaly recommend doing that first. it gives you an idea as to how the psp is built and where other mods are placed. helpful info to know for the next time you mod the psp with something a little more demanding. make sure that you use very thin wire as the speakers will have to fit on top.

Supplies needed for the Sound Reactive LED Mod
30-gauge Kynar wire (best to have different colors)
2x 0603 LED’s
1x 191k-ohm Resistor
1x 30k-ohn Resistor
1x LM386 Audio Amplifier IC
Soldering Iron (nothing more then 15 Watt)
Solder (.015 size works best)
Flux
Drill
3/16 bit

could anybody tell me which onlineshop sell those items?? it would be better if someone could give the exact links (example LED link, Kynar Wire link, etc)

coz i'm still newbie to this mod/soldering stuff, so i cant decide which is 0603 LED and the difference with other LED

thx for the help

I just bought all of the parts needed and I am about to do this mod but how do you build the Amp? JrF's Sound Mod tut is down.. or the wiki..

EDIT #1Nevermind I found a diagram.

EDIT #2 I Installed everything but when I turned my PSP on the LEDs Blew so I Need Help.
My LEDs are 1.8~2.4v so what kind of resistor would I Need so that they don't blow up?

complete genius man luv  it, i got the sound chip from "the shop" and i did everything exactly as you have here. it works perfectly and i have one orange 0603 led on the contacts but it eventually burned out.i burned out the resistors to my wifi and memory stick indicator lights(sound chip still works) but im cool with that cause they ruin the flow im trying to make. i want to install 6 blue leds and 2 white ones. i would like to know what resistors i would need for the colors im using and whether its better to wire them in series or parallel. i tested a couple of white ones and the popped so i know i need them. id really like to finish this thing cause all my media is centered around music and my psp slim. any help would be greatly appreciated.  :help:

does the sound mod rob more battery power if the resistors leading to the wifi and memory stick leds are burnt, my psp slim seems less durable and i havent installed the leds yet for the nod,i keep it off but i got it closed up n all

The links are to the wiki, which no longer exists. All tuts and entries and stuff were moved to the tutorials section.

k i have 2 questions.

1) what is the importance of using two different color kynar wires?
2) which type of resistors do i get? copper or metal
