Title: Low volume mic monitoring on newest controllers
Post by: kuhruby on April 03, 2017, 04:24:15 PM
My daily driver is a Lunar White controller (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Special-Lunar-Wireless-Controller/dp/B014Q0344I). I recently bought this updated design (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Blue/dp/B01M0F0OIY). For a headset, I use headphones and an Antlion ModMic which requires 5v of phantom power. To my ear, the overall output volume sounds the same on both controllers, but the mic monitoring volume is weaker on the new, blue controller. I suspect the mic isn't getting the required juice from the blue controller, but I'm not familiar with the technical aspects, so it's just conjecture. If this is the case, can I increase the voltage my modding the controller? Or do I need a pre-amp?
