those Inputs are 'floating' and will do whatever they feel like doing, and can sometimes make other parts of the controller act up.

I can confirm...I learned about this by not cleaning the board properly of flux after replacing pots...Or when a pad lifts

You could try to explain the application, maybe there are some specific solutions...
You can't really connect stick pots off-board due to the increase in resistance, so I don't think you can skip the board.
If you use the board to make the coordinates calculations then as you already mentioned, calibrations will be different so the two controllers will not match, I imagine the stick movements will just jump around.

You can manually calibrate pots to achieve 0-7% deadzone from my experience, so it would also depend on the settings of your application, if it allows for deadzone adjustment or not.

Maybe you're up to something here. I'm limited in the help I can give knowledge wise...But I wouldn't mind getting the hardware and dump other controller versions firmware (1708, 1914, 1797).
Let me know if you need help looking up for the pots info in the firmware, with some guidance I'm sure I can help.

Hi,

I was replacing the left thumbstick module and manged to lose the pad shown in the attached pic top and bottom. Am i right in saying that I could just run a jumper from the pin as shown?

Thanks in advance!

Regulator for the Triggers U9, or any of it's support components, C3, C32, C33, C35, C37, R38 or R40 or it could be the MCU not sending the signal to that Regulator. Could be U10 or U11 is shorted also, or any number of other things that I haven't seen before.

Thanks , i shall check these points with my scope and dmm.

What could cause both triggers to be activating 100% as soon as the controller is powered up? I know the issue is with the mcu board as the issue remains with a known working power board.
