I'm almost pretty sure that would ruin a console! One time I left my phone besides my microwave when I made some noodles and when I turned on the microwave,my phone went crazy and the battery exploded (I think that's right :S).I didn't know the microwave was faulty 0.o

Whenever a laptop goes thru arport security it gets x-rayed so it should have hurt a ps3 or a wii or a 360.
also microwaves(the actual waves not microwaves) affect water so if it has water in it it can affect it.

In airports, the frequence of the x-ray waves (wavelength?) is alot lower because they are looking for natural matter,so it doesn't break electrcs. But to see the electrics like detail like that needs an x-ray with alot higher frequence,we once used one of them to x-ray metal for defections and when we tried it at that frequence x-raying plastic it just melted it!
-
yup the plastic would definitely have melted because plastics tend to have really low melting points... Microwave ovens work on the same principle by exciting the water molecules in the food and the vibrations develop in the form of heat which cooks the food.

those pictures are awesome! someone must work at a hospital or a circuitboard manufacturing house.......(my guess)
almost all modern day electronix like consoles and computers get x-ray'd during manufacturing(the motherboards). the leadless chip packages and BGA chips need to be x-ray'd for quality control.
low power x-rays arent harmful unless you are a living organism(even then small doses are no big deal).... obviously there are probably adverse effects to running a device in an X-ray machine due to RF and EMI, but I doubt those x-rays did any damage to those devices.
