PSP 2000 nub question?

Will the PSP 2000 (Slim) analog fit in the PSP 1000 (Phat)? I like the feel of the Slims, but I don't know if it will work.

But if I just put it over the mobo, wouldn't it raise the nub higher, with really no difference?

it is exactly thesame nub only the golden contacts are placed different, which makes it 10 times more difficult to put it on a phat psp

I like how it is easier to slide. Could I just change the chips so that the Phat chip is under the slim analog?
