Elite Controller PCB Scans?
« on: March 05, 2018, 09:18:29 AM »
Has anyone some really good quality PCB Scans from the Elite Controller?

I need to replace a joystick module but two solder points are off and i need to find the correct traces to fix it.

Thanks in advance

The Elite controller is the 1698, which is pretty much the same as the 1697 - https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,43725.0.html

Post some pics of the damage if that doesn't help any.

Code: [Select]

    X                X

GND                    RSC  GND
RSY
AN+                    RSC  GND

    X                X

      AN+  RSX  GND

GND = Ground
X     = Solder lugs for the Stick, also Ground
RSX = Right Stick X-Axis
RSY = Right Stick Y-Axis
AN+ = Analog Voltage

You can connect both of the AN+ spots together with a short jumper wire.

The RSX spot looks like the Via is still intact, so as long as the top side of that isn't torn up it should still take solder and work.

A Via is the smaller copper coated hole that goes thru the board to connect the top and bottom traces together.

The better description of the RSX spot is a plated thru hole, that is the copper inside the hole there still looks to be intact and that is what connects the RSX lead to the top side trace when it's soldered.

If the top side of RSX is bad, then you'll need to solder a jumper wire from the RSX lead on the bottom side, then run it around to the top side of the board and solder it to the bottom of R57.
