hey guys well i just got a dremel today and decided to test it. i tryed cutting it like i saw loboplayero do it except more safer? lol idk but yea. i didnt know where else to post so i came here. in the picture you can see i cut out the middle circle. the only part i sanded was the door not the circle.(thats y it looks

up. the reason for the messups was cuz my mom kept bugging me. anyways lesson learned lock the door and put some earbuds on. anyways again this was my first time dremeling. the umd door was a spare part i had laying around. other than that im happy how well the dremel sanded and cut out the pieces. and other than the

up parts everything came out well

so yea any tips ON dremeling these things will be appreciated. and yea i kno it came out

seriously how did you manage to do that? I'm guessing you went out a little too far and then tried to even it out or something.. What head did you use??

You have to hold the dremel firm and make small cuts into the plastic at a time.

This works:
1. find the area to cut
2. roughly and slowly cut with a dremel
3. knock the large piece of plastic out
4. start sanding with large grit paper
5. piece should start looking good after a few hours of sanding move to small grit paper.

after that you should be ok.

just take it easy when using dremel.. just 1 wrong move you will ruin everything...

@Blazinkaos yea. and i did it again on other broken umd door i had and it came out perfect!

a lil studying, some tips from fellow modders and family members who some are carpenters n stuff and i did great! here check it out. out and the door's paint looks like crap cuz its from an old attempted paint job xD. and the paint was sanded long ago.

the silver door and circle is from yesterday and the black door and circle is from today.

silver=yesterday
black=today

There you go thats much better. Yea dremeling is like what a carpenter does my uncle has his own business of that just have to be creative steady hand. There tons of bits out there for those dremels I got a 20 set diamond bits. They use those to cut down on concrete and they cut perfect on plastic. Something to look for.

cool! hey for the diamond bits do you know if they have any for a chicago electric rotary tool? (i have one i just say dremel cuz its faster to say) btw the ce tool works pretty cool i forgot which dremel i compared it to tho. if there are any do you know where? i got my ce rotary tool (or dremel) at harbor freight. you think they might have some diamond bits there?

Dude do not get that harbor freight crap....i bought one of those awhile back and it was super weak. As soon as i would touch the cutting wheel to what i was cutting it would freakin die cause it had no nuts. Spend your money right the first time and just get a DREMEL brand tool.

@crazy-modder well you probably got the $10 dollar one but i tried the cutting wheel and it worked great! you probably got a faulty one or something. and with a warranty if it breaks or something i get a new one free. but ok. i also got dis one cuz im trying to save some money for other parts. but right now its working pretty good! i might actually save some money on the side for a real dremel but that wont be any time soon.

ive been cutting doors for a while man its takes practice u need to follow the steps provided by fookz on this post they will help u much bettter by the way the second door came out great!! just practice!

wow i just use a razor knife to cut mine out, it takes a while but it comes out nice.

Im not sure where youll find the diamond bits i was lucky enough to find them at a hardware store that i had to travel 50 miles to get to. So I suggest just look up electronic places or hardware places and ask see if they carry any.
