Granted I am Military affiliated it could be unwise, but I had to check. I haven't browsed any of the articles but it was interesting that I couldn't get to it.

Yes, I was on Fort Lee when I tried it, my personal internet isn't but it didn't work on base.

working fine here, but a google search of wikileaks lead me to an ip instead of a url. looks like the legit site, but maybe they have had to remove the url for some reason? i could access the link in your post just fine though.

edit: nevermind, that was a mirror. wikileaks.org redirects me here

Old News. Major DDoS attack on wikileaks last week. The sort of attack you have to own several server banks to carry out. Most likely a government or agency. Since then well over 500 mirrors have been created from cached copies of the site. By hackers. Win.

''http://wikileaks.org/'' redirects me to ''http://mirror.wikileaks.info/''
''http://wikileaks.org.uk/'' lets me on

my ISP is Verizon(mainly because they don't care about how you use their service).

I Google search to see if it shows their IP, and it does. I visit wikileaks' site: http://213.251.145.96/ and its a legit link. Wasn't wikileaks kicked off their domain name host because of "violation"?

Also recently my friend had gotten a letter in the mail from Comcast stating that he is seeding torrents (made from his own content) and they know it because of the bandwidth hes using. Now he is being watched. Also another friend of mine streams on his Road-Runner internet service and he is also being monitored. - They have done this for the past 2 years and are now being notified about it. So Be Careful Out there!!

I got a message on my AKO account. It is highly unadvised for anybody military affiliated to go to WikiLeaks, because the information is classified, regardless if it is available on a public site. XD I don't believe I'll be trying that again.

XD Classified files are not available to anybody without a security clearance. It isn't as if anybody could see these files. Even those people with a security clearance that would let them look into these things would have to have a reason to do so. It would be very unwise to look into things that has nothing to do with your job, and then have it leaked to the public. Losing your security clearance is like hitting a brick wall in your career. You won't get past it, you won't recover from it, and nobody forgets it. So yea... Saying it's available may be true for some people, but I don't know anybody that would jeopardize there livelihood for something like this. My friend Crystal defends her security clearance like it is nuclear launch codes. She's dumped boyfriends because they tried to pester her into talking about her job.

Those files were classified probably never to be released. Those files weren't released even through appeals. It's likely that at some point, they were going to 'disappear'. They were sent over SIRCNET for goodness sake (I think that's the acronym).

I know I'm a little late to weigh in on this whole thing, but all government agencies have been blocking access to wikileaks since the leak. Was just reading an article about it yesterday. Something about the DoD and CIA determining wikileaks as a possible security threat (not in the manner that they leak classified info or had DDoS attacks, but in the sense that the site itself could be a threat to govt. systems and servers... Sounded to me like a BS excuse to block WL for leaking info and to contain the damage...)

As for ISPs sending notices about seeding torrents, yes they can and will send them out and it doesn't matter how long you've been doing it (actually that's kinda why they take so long to send out notices, have to have the data and logs to back up the claim). The main reason notices are going out now is in response to and in preparation for  the bill being put before congress and senate (you know, the one that would let the govt. wield the banhammer for the whole internet...). Most ISPs and companies believe it will pass so they're getting a jump start on legal action...
