PS3 Still Bleeding Money Just Not As Much

According to a report by the New York Times Sony's finances are back in black due to restructuring of the company.

Despite this, a closer look at financial publications reveals that on average Sony still incurs a loss of six cents for every dollar on the Playstation 3. Assuming a console is sold for $300, that means that each sale still costs Sony $18.

However, this is a far cry from when the Sony first debuted the PS3, when initial costs were estimated to be $807 per unit.

With further cost cutting measures promised by the company, Sony's premier console can finally enjoy straight profits.
