Sync button lighting

Introduction
in this section ill be showing you how to light a transparent sycn button. i thought i'd add this in aswell, because its the only button on the controller that is not being lit so might as well light it to.

Parts Needed
  • 1x0603 led
  • some 30 awg wire
  • a resistor if required
  • a transparent or white sycn button( it doesnt work to well with a white sycn but it does light it a small amount.)

Tools Needed
  • Solder Iron
  • hot glue gun
  • wire cutters
  • tweezers

Difficulty rating: 2/5

Average Time to Complete: 5-10mins

Notes:
be carefull soldering the leds as they are sensitive to heat.
also take care picking up and holding the leds as thet can sometimes ping out and get lost easilly.

Step By Step Tutorial
1- firstly remove your standard sycn button and replace with a transparent 1 ( i got mine from a crystal case i bought off ebay.)

2- now you'll want to hold your led in your tweezers and conect the - side of it to 1 of the 2 metal contacts on the top of the sycn button in a similar way to what i did during the bumper lighting mod.

3- now run a wire from the + side of the led to the + connection used through out our lighting mods. or the + side of the breadboard installed during the dome led mod.

test the led...
and once your happy with the connections on the led dab a small amount of hot glue on it to secure it further.

then close up your pad

FAQ/ Troubleshooting
  • if the led is not lighting . check the polarity of your connections and check the polarity of you led.

Is there anywhere to get just the sync, or will it show through a normal sync?

Not that I am aware of. It comes with the button pack when you order a clear case.
