Fresh on the scene
« on: August 14, 2010, 12:33:34 AM »
Whats up fellas. I have been around psps the second day they were released. I've been into synthesizers and circuit bending for a while and I thought I would give this whole psp a shot at modding. So I did, a year ago. All I have to say is that I went through 4 psps. Some sucked.... but some were nice. Here's two of mine. Not exactly clean jobs, but hey. Tell me what you guys think. Be sure to use the word "noob" a lot. I'm ready for it. haha

First one.
USB charge,
power led swap to red,
I think it was 22 sound reactive leds,
A switch to turn the leds on or off,
Added an internal speaker.
(about 5 hours of work)

My LED/Speaker Modded PSP 1001powered by Aeva

Psp from tonight(reason why I made an account)
This one is a bit cooler, less leds though.
6 blue sound reactive smds,
A switch to turn the leds on or off,
power led swap to blue,
Memory stick load led swap to blue,
and 3 sound reactive red smds.
(about an hour and a half of work)

Complete?powered by Aeva

If you guys have any good concepts that someone like me may be able to pull, just comment or post or whatever its called here.

What is the color of the led when it's charging?

I just used the same led. I know how to make it different but I can't solder that small. The contact points on the powerboard are just close for my skill level.

in the bottom video are you red and blue LED's hooked put in the same circuit or speaker? if so you you might want to make them in a different circuit or have a transistor for the blue LED's. they are a little dim. the red led's take power away from the blue led's

I did have then on seperate speakers but when I added the switch, it was either run on one or add two switches, so I just ran on one. I might get a 2 pin dip switch.
