Wii Home Brew Channel Help - 3.4U
« on: May 08, 2009, 10:00:59 PM »
Hello my fellow modders, ladies and gents. I haven't needed any home brews or anything such at that for my Wii, as of lately. I only have a few games. I need help with soft modding my Wii. My sister updated and I had no idea that this would prevent me from modding at the time. I currently have 3.4U on my Wii and would like to be able to play a back up disk game. My father some how accidentally stepped on my Final Fantasy Chocobos Dungeon disk. It is snapped in three pieces now. I found a ISO for it on the Internet and I have that under control, I just simply cannot get the Twilight Hack to install the Homebrew Channel to work for me. Is there any other way I can install the Homebrew channel to install the backup loader? I have searched the Internet and I cannot seem to find anything that works. So I am now asking here.

If it is inappropriate to talk about this here, would it be possible for somebody to PM me to help me out?

A picture as proof I own the game :

Thank you all

What are you having a problem with?
Download version 0.1Beta2 and put the files in the correct folders on the SD card. Next you have to download the HBC installer (boot.elf or boot.dol, I don't remember) and place it on the root of the SD card. Then, go into Wii and copy the save file from the SD card onto your system. Just run Twilight Hack and you're good to go. It will install it.

Still having trouble?
Make sure your SD card is formatted with the FAT file system.
Make sure you're using the correct save slot:
--Look on your Twilight Princess disk on the bottom, check the inner ring. There will be a serial number. If it is...
-RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA then use the "TwilightHack0" save slot in the game.
-RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA then use the "TwilightHack2" save slot in the game.

MAKE SURE that you use the Twilight Hack right after you copy it onto the Wii system. This version deletes itself when you reboot/restart/etc the Wii system.

Thanks for the quick reply PspKicks316:

I've done all of that, the problem I am having is that each time I try to do the Twilight Hack it fails at the very end of it. I have the right version, I have the right game save and boot.elf file. It simply does not want to work for me. It just keep failing to install. Could this be because I have 3.4U?

No because 0.1Beta2 is made for version 3.4.

What's the error it gives you?

._.;; This is quite discouraging. I still haven't managed to get it to work. I have the home brew channel on my Wii, and I have downgraded to 3.2U.

Home Brew Channel

Backup Loader Channel

When I click on the Backup loader channel it goes to this screen:

At this point I am unable to do anything but restart my Wii. No text pops up no nothing. I cannot click any buttons. All I have is simply the small icon in the bottom corner. I have tried a dozen files off of the internet. I need a little more help right now. x.x;

I had that when I first tried it...
I'm not sure what I did to fix it though.

Are you running that off of the homebrew channel or as an actual channel on the system?

I've tried it through the home brew browser and the home brew channel. I actually have the channel on my system menu. I've tried like everything I've found on the internet and none of it is working for me ._.;;
