WiiMote LED Swaps

(I posted in Wii Tutorials Too just a FYI)
WiiMote LED Swaps

Introduction
Anyone get bored of the normal blue leds? Dont like them blue?
Well lets change em! My favorite color is red so i chose to use red leds.
Enjoy, LONG LIVE AM!
-Chris a.K.a Jumbo

Note:
Also just under 3 volts come off the leds, so low voltage leds look better :D
Parts Needed
--WiiMote
--4x SMD 0603 LED

Tools Needed
-- 15-30 watt Soldering Iron
-- Solder
-- Triwing Screwdriver
-- Flux

Picture of things needed

Average Time To Complete- About 10 Minutes

Difficulty Rating-1/5

Step By Step Tutorial-
First, We need to use a Triwing Screwdriver to open the WiiMote up.

Now that the screws are out put them somewhere safe.

The top of the wiimote is always a pain to open a flathead screwdriver and some patience should get you though this.
(Dont try too hard or you can dent the caseing)

After you hear the pop pull the top off and remove it so it looks like this-

Now tin your leds and remove the leds from the wiimote and solder them like this-

Negative goes to the top, postive on the bottom.

Should like this when your done-

Test it out quick and if they light its time to close up!

Now put the top of the wiimote down and press the bottom onto it untill you hear the 2 latches pop in.

Then screw the screws back in-

Enjoy your new LED's!

Very nice. I just wanted to add, single colors are good for specific themes but dont forget about the 'player indicator' method.

This is sweet in that the LED is the same color as the player 'hand' on the screen.
