I'm doing this to my controller, but your second post is missing the pictures, which are pretty important considering the way you typed out your second post.  I'd be extremely thankful if you would reupload them.

And also, did you ever consider that the 2 analog sticks might be too close together when it is done?  At first I was considering doing this:

But I realized it would be much harder to get used to aiming in FPS games, and yours would be much easier on the thumbs.

:(

this type of controller never seemed to get anywhere, I have only seen 2 of them ever, but to me I can't believe everyone doesn't have one, it looks sooo much nicer and easier to use!

I apologize for bumping such an old thread, but I'm interested in doing something similar and I was hoping someone could clarify on this.

Now I placed the analog stick in its new position where the D-pad used to be..

Because the analog stick is housed in metal parts, what exactly is allowing for it to be placed over the D-pad contacts without it completing those circuits and having those buttons act as though they're pressed? What's preventing it from bridging any of the electrical parts below it in general?

Thanks!

The bottom of the analog is all plastic, you will just need to bend up the 4 legs of the metal housing

would the controller still work if i leave the 4 buttons on the right side of the controller?

i just want to move the left stick to where the dpad was and also leave the 4 buttons in the same place
