soundboard mod help
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:08:46 PM »
Okay sorry about all the questions lately, but I've decided to start on my psp slim and I've just been reading a lot, but haven't really had any hands-on experience yet. So my question: Since the soundboard already has a resistor on it, doesn't it mean I can only use blue leds? Also, any tips for where to run wires? I think on the phat it was behind the lcd cage. What about slim?

It has 2 resistors on the + and - of the speaker imput. You can use most normal types of smt leds, reds may need a extra resistor?. I have never modded a slim so Im not sure where to mount. Oh on the phat it wasn't behind lcd cage, the most common spot was behind the wifi.

Search and you shall find.

If you go here, there is a guide that will show you where to solder and yes you can run the wires along the top of the psp like that phat version.

Yeah I saw that. So basically most leds should work and I should route wires along the top?

yeah thanks. That's where I was planning to put it. When I actually get the board, and leds and stuff, I'll start wiring stuff up, THEN I'll figure out where to put things.
