ok well i asked my school wether i could borrow the machine for doing mine and my brothers psp jewel...short answer was a dead no. (apparently because it took too long to set up.
) any way i thought hmm how the hell can i try and get a jewel on the cheap so i got out my dremel and got to work... i grabbed a cd case cut out a okish circle and then engraved with a collection of bits i have.... i think it looks ok but not really worhty of a psp jewel (you may think otherwise) please tell me wether these are of any good quality, thanks:(the one on the left was the first one.... prefer the bio hazard personally)

Decent. I like the bio hazard one. Granted what you had to work with, you did great. Just sand the edges a little.

I think the biohazard looks great for what you had to work with! I suggest testing it with some LEDs behind it (assuming you were planning to have LEDs behind it) and seeing how it looks with some light.

I say this all the time but people never seem to heed my advice, cut a stencil out of cellophane and spray opaque lacquer through the stencil onto the plastic and BAM you got an awesome, accurate and clean design on your jewel that catches the light really well.

Sorry i hav'nt checked the thread since i made it! wow thanks guys! i didn't think they were that good but according to you guys they are. i response to asif, i just put a piece of paper over the back bit of the psp and traced around the dipped area. then after that i measured with a compass and added an extra 3mm to its radius and drew it again. then i just traced with a cd writing pen onto the cd case and went from there with my dremel starting off with a cutting disk for the main part and then moving on to a sandpaper bit for the rest... finishing it off with a strage fluffy thing to go on the end of it for smoothness! thanks everybody for all the compliments!

i used a dremel with about 3-4 different bits over all. the picture makes it look worse than it really is but i admit it is a little rough around the edges. im not to good with the smoothing side of things

Used a hand sander and fine sand paper.
