As im done building my controller, if one of you guys would like to write some rapidfire code for halo 3 and program it into a pic i would be up for paying for it /labour/shipping and what not, how much would that run me about?(local electronics store charges 10 dollars for programming a chip and 4 dollars for a pic, so maybe i could just pay you for the code?, im only looking to see what kind of stuff can be done to the BR and any other rapid fire stuff in halo 3)

A couple questions for ya'll:

1) Why not solder the wires to the test points on the underside of the controller instead of those incredibly small points on the top?
2) What's the real deal with Halo 3 code (Doing a 180 really isn't something to get excited about)?  Can I help contribute in anyway?  Are there any resources someone can direct me towards to find out what code is necessary to create some cool macros?

will i like my small point i have no problem using these point. if you like to use the test point that is fine. "b

halo 3 there is no code for rapid fire on halo .. all you can do is improve aim on useless guns ex needler & covenant ar machine gun etc

the game is coded with time delay[so the time that takes to fire battlerifle till it run out and reload is timed in halo 3 ] so if the time dose not match the code that is in the game, will freez the game.

so no rapid fire of any kind on halo 3.  :victory:

Now you can do create some cool macros but you need this controller board model # X801769-026

at this time this the only one that let you do that that i know of.

now if you like to code your self and make cool macros you need PIC Basic Pro Compiler  $249.95

also need a pic programmer $89.95

im sure coding these PIC's isnt too bad, just having to re-learn all the syntax is annoying. I have looked at it somewhat and its very similar to assembly, does anyone have a link to a website that can tell u the differences between it and assembly?

What is the best thing to use to get through the lacquer on the board to make a good solder joint?

could you do this using the same components on a ps3 controller and wire them to the right place on the controller or would you have to use different components, because i really wanna do this and i dont know if xbox and ps3 controllers have different voltage batterys or not. if anyone has done this on a ps3 controller pls help me.

Can you make dual rapid fire for all models since you can control both triggers on all controllers.

your time and effort are greatly appreciated.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but while doing this mod, i noticed something about the tutorial.
in the tutorial this picture says pins 4, 17, and 18

and in this picture it shows pin 3, 17, and 18.

can someone tell me which is right?  i'm assuming the larger picture is right.
also...which switch goes to 3, which to 17, and which to 18.  of course i could hook it up and figure it out myself, but if i can save myself 5 min that'd be great

if i'm just an idiot, ignore me ;)  if the tutorial isn't right, can ya fix that one picture so it says 3 17 18   instead of 4 17 and 18

The Larg Picture is right 3,  17, 18  its a typo on the  small picture

for the switch's  17 & 18 are the triggers

and  pin3 is the mode switch " in the middle of the controller under the LED "

What delay time should I use between changing pin states I can't seem to get mine to fire as fast as in the video.

please release a firmware for both triggers on all controllers  :victory:

Can you make dual rapid fire for all models since you can control both triggers on all controllers.

USE THIS PROGRAMMER AT YOUR OWN RISK, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING THEN DONT START WITH THIS PROGRAMMER. I HAVE USED THIS WITHOUT ISSUE.

simple programmer for 16f84a can be made with a socket, 100ohm resistor, male serial cable end. Use a straight thru cable not null modem

socket pin # 4 goes to serial pin # 3
socket pin # 13 goes to serial pin # 8
socket pin # 13 also goes to 100 ohm resistor then to serial pin # 4
socket pin # 12 goes to serial pin # 7
hook 4.5v positive(+) post to socket pin #14
hook power ground(-) to socket pin #5 to serial pin # 5

I use 3 aa batterys for power supply ( you should be able to use 4v to 5v without issue)

download picpgm it will auto detect programmer and chip

Ok, so if there's no rapidfire available for Halo 3 then is the head tracking thing possible?  I remember a post that mentioned this may be possible, but I wasn't sure if that was in reference to COD4 or Halo 3.  As cool as this is I'm not sure I'll do it if there isn't some sort of advantage to be gained.  I'm having a hard time envisioning any macros that would be useful... :-)

Hey guys, I'm new here so I'm not all to familiar with this stuff.
Got most of the wiring done but am stuck on the wiring of the buttons (switches?). I'm thinking all the vdd points go to the "+" point next to the mic cause it's a hot point. Then the two switches on the right are for the buttons and the one on the left is for the button in the middle of the controller.

Thanks for confirming that for me man. One other thing though, is there some way to tell if a controller (wireless) is the correct model (X801769-026) by looking on the packaging some where? Cause if I'm not mistaken this will only work on this model of the 360 control (wireless), and I've got two controls (004) and (022)...

Will i know i buy 8 controllers and 4 of them where (X801769-026), for rapidfire you can do it on any xbox 360 controller dose not have to be (X801769-026) Model but if you want to do combo/ macro you need that controller to programming combo's ex:

Combo X + Y
Combo X + RT
Switch LT/ RT

And etc.

If you want a (X801769-026) Black Controller i can sell you one just Pm me or Email

Also if you doing the Rapidfire on a wired controller we used a 100 ohm resister to the 5v source

That's awesome, what would be the soldering points for ABXY on a 004 controller? Don't want to guess and mess up
This is the only pic I got at the moment.
