Description
basically its the size of a umd disc and will fit into the umd drive (if u remove the drive). there are 4 ports on the board that will be wired to the 4 ports of the analog ports of the psp mobo. to use it just tilt in the direction that you would want to go and itll go depending on how much you tilt it. enjoy.

ITEMS NEEDED

*double sided pcb= 5usd
*ALL parts are free from the sites that i will give you.
*pic programmer

Using a homemade pic programmer found here
http://www.instructables.com/id/ECIGFDGTR5EWT14BNI/

Size Comparison
*will fit into umd drive if umd drive is removed
*around the length, width and height of a umd disc!

Heres the schematic

again special thanks to kerky for helping me with this, it was pretty much horrible but not as horrible as ziggy's relationships... so thanks man.

ill be releasing the code for the pic asap after i get some personal business figured out...

Heres what i used to make it

PIC

DAC

ACCELEROMETER

I have got one wish - make it open source. It will be cool when someone can help you with this. Also I think it can be good way to understand how DAC and Accelerometer work. I can't wait when you release version for D-Pad.

That picture is from the first revision. anyone attempting to make this on their own should be cautious it is still under development.  And there haven't been any prototypes to date.  The code is nowhere near done, mostly because of my class load this semester :faint:.  I plan on finishing up coding by June, hopefully sooner, but I don't plan on releasing the code for free.  This doesn't mean I'm going to charge an arm and a leg for it, just a couple bucks.  This is not to be greedy, I feel it is fair that I get compensated for my hard work as I have done all the work for this also it would make it so everyone attempting this wouldn't have to make a pic programmer.  Also, not all parts are free, the resistors and capacitors will cost a little bit, but not much.  Also if there are enough people interested I may have boards professionally made.

I work on the project when I get time.  PvP asked me to do this for him, since I know a lot about electronics and I'm decent at programming microcontrollers. I'm hoping I'll be able to use some aspects of this project on my Sr. Design project next year.  I haven't had much motivation to work on this lately though, my programmer I built won't work because something is messed up with my computer's serial port.  Maybe I'll throw some rough code together this weekend though just to get things started.  If anyone is interested in the process of what the code is going to be doing, I'll share, but the code I write will not be open source (I'm a little possessive of my code plus coding µC's can be a pain in the  :censored:).

CrkPyro, please make it on PvP's hardware. It's almost no cost and I think a lot of people ordered needed parts.

you don't get it, I made that schematic too. I've done all the work, PvP gave me the idea I also based it off a similar product for 360 controllers. you don't want to make the boards you're gonna use from that one though. It's not finished, but all the parts are gonna stay the same.  I don't think PvP told you guys what resistors or capacitors to use either, it says in the data sheet for the accelerometer which ones to use, but I can't think of what they are off the top of my head.

Man i think you should get something for your time. so do charge.

so i need to look at the data sheet to see what resistors or capacitors to use.

Is the pic programmer that you build your self any good for this project and the HDD mod?

I just looked it up, you can use 1K Ohm resistors and 0.1µF capacitors. these are for a simple low pass filter, so you can use other values if you want, but these will probably work the best.

The programmer I built currently isn't working because my computer is doing something goofy with my serial port.  I built a variant of the JDM programmer.  If you are going to make a programmer you will most likely need a serial port(Note: serial ports on most laptops will not work you need a serial port that can output at least 8.2V).  I haven't seen any plans for a usb programmer, but you can buy them.  The specific programmer that I built is here http://www.instructables.com/id/Business-Card-PIC-Programmer/  This programmer will work for every microcontoller that is supported by programming software like winpic, winpic800, icprog and others.  It'll work for this project and the HDD mod, but I don't plan on working on the HDD mod at all.  I'm simply not that good with filesystems and I feel it'd be too frustrating.

Thanks man i am going to buy them right now plus the stuff for the PIC. Ya that was the PIC i saw that i was going to build. I might go to Frys they are pretty good place and it is fun just going their.
LOL well to bad you are not going to try your hand at the HDD mod. I got to frustrated with it
decided to wait for some one to do it..
