Author Topic: Well, I just electrocuted myself... (Read 5232 times)

I have this little lamp behind my tv (you know, having a tv the size of mine in a dark room could hurt your eyes without a backlight blah blah blah) and it has a little switch that you rotate to turn it on/off. Well apparenty the plastic encasing it broke and when I tried turning it off it shocked me, had me for about 5 seconds until it let me go. This marks the 32nd** time i've electrocuted myself from a wall outlet. Anyone else have any fun experiences?

ive been shocked taking apart my wii and putting the screwdrive in the wrong spot

and forgot to unplud it

When I have opened my digital camera,
I touched the mobo with both of my hands,
and the capacitor used for the flash discharged
on me paralyzing my hands for some secs.
I don't remember how many Farads and Volts is
that capacitor..I bet it's lot's of.

i was installing a cold cathode in my xbox and i had to take the case off the inverter so i could fit it inside,at this stage i hadnt insulated it,anyways i forgot the the inverter was still plugged in and i turned on the xbox and got a serious shock to my hand and i pulled my hand away but the inverter blung to my hand and burnt 2 dots into my palm lol the marks r still there

voltage alone does not kill you, amps do if i remember correctly.

also i got hit by lightning one, its wierd when it happened i saw blue flash for a millisecond and then i notice a burning feeling. it broke my cellphone too.

its all wound together if im right, but it also matters if it passes your heart or brain or anything important like that. but im up to 72 shocks. most of from testing a project out, but others are from varios other tasks

Lmao the same thing happened to me except it was a disposable camera and it was RIGHT in from of my face!!! I though it had discharged all the way beforehand but I went to twist the capacitor off,me being stupid of course, and it went off right in front of my face and i got my hand shocked and it went up through my arm! And I couldn't see, that damn thing was bright! I jumped a little and threw it against the wall lmao.

I think it is wattage
amps x volts

and yeah it needs to pass over your vital organs to kill you, my shocks go from my right arm to my leg almost every time

whne i did a 3 point trn to get outa my neiborhood in the mornin
i was half way down the s treet ion a bad stormy day
and lighting struck the hood of the car and shut my car off..
i was trippin balls after that lol

i turned it back on and just drove off lol

when the storm was gone later that afternoon i poped the hood and nothing seemed wrong

very true,most electric fences are wot like 100,000 volts but tiny ams while a toaster is 220 volts at 3 amps which mean you=toast

HAHAH Yeah

LAst year i was being stupid and saw a mettal plug in the out lit up stairs. It was one of the things at end of plug that goes in wall.. Well I noticed it came out of my vacume i was like oh... And then lol I grabbed it and owch. Huge jolt had me for 15 seconds lol. But i finally got off and couldnt feel my thumb for 3 hours lol.

i was testing a pc psu and wen i had hold of the power switch i turned it on and my fingers where over the contacts and booom luckily my g/f was there to get it of me wen i screamed like a girl lol i have had loads of little shocks but thats my only big one it hurt like hell my arm was funny for days
