2 mods 1 PSP
« on: December 02, 2007, 05:12:21 PM »
Ok video number 2 for today.

This psp will be on sale through coolmods.co.uk at some point in the next week or so.

What I did here is add 2 leds to each of the original led points, mem/power/wifi that can be switched between using the note key. The blue mode has a music lighting mod. I used a modified version of a headphone amp circuit for the pulsing, it works much better than any other circuit Ive used, the lights are very responsive (not that you can tell in the vid). The Red mode has solid lighting in the triggers an speakers. The colour switching is handled by a PIC microcontroller.

I am really happy with the way this came out. Hope you all dig it.

Heres the vid (still having problems uping pics so this will have to do for now)

I second that F00 f00, I loled at the title, and sh*t myself during the video, it's that good :D, but I'm wondering if just about any microcontroller (say from a boe-bot) would work if you wire it the right way?

Yeah I always use kynar. Its just a case of keeping it tidy. One thing that helps is if you try do do most of your wiring under the mobo. I am not sure if I have a pic of the internals of this one but if your interested I'll have a look about for some good examples.

Well I am not sure what a boebot is, but most pics would do. Its a simple flip-flop switch program.

To be honest I probably wont write a proper tut. Mostly because its a bit to complicated to explain. If you already know how the indicator leds work and how to do music lighting then it wouldn't be too hard to do. The hardest part is the wiring. But youd also need a little knowledge of pic programing and the hardware to do it.
