Well my band have finally finished recording our demo (thank god for that!) and now just need one of you awesome photoshopers to make us an album cover so we can send our demo to a record company and hopefully get signed (may take a few tries lol)

hey im no real photoshoper but maybe post a sample of your music and a bit of background so that they can maybe incorporate the feel of your music into the cover

Wow, thats actually really good

@ Robin and Vox.. i cant provide any of our music because its still in the studio.. We are still saving for it to be mastered and burnt onto disc.

nice work proper british, that is a nice vector you made. Only way I can see to improve is the fact the text kinda doesn't seem to flow with the rest.

easily changeable, i exported it as .PSD i couldnt be bothered to find my own font so i just used the one he suggested. gamerdude has the .psd and he can change the text as he wishes. and i have the .ai for resizing :P

was that render hand made or did you use the illustrator auto vector thing?

The DPI has to be a lot higher than what is used in this thread, 300DPI. It's better to start in a lot higher resolution with the same aspect ratio and then crop down later so you don't limit your self. 4.724"x4.724" seems very small to me for an album cover, I'd recommend 1600x1600 which is what I used when I made a cover for my EP

EDIT: You should also be careful with the stocks you use as this is a commercial artwork and any stocks used with out permission could result in a court case, in a worse case scenario that is.

If you want something professional why don't you hire someone professional?
it would only cost a minimum of about $200 usd. So I think you should be just lucky to be getting
anything at all.

live trace, extracted, ungrouped, muddled around with colours a bit, went into Ps and added the tear and text

I know.. but £500 to record a demo is ALOT for a 4 15 year olds.. also .. i think i forgot to say but the person i choose is going to get a copy of the demo.. i think i told British that.

I wouldn't underestimate the power of an album cover though. They can largely effect the sales of a record and give you an insight into the bands style. All the current posted pieces will be unacceptable to print as they are far too small, have tiny DPI's and have no margins for print. I would seriously wait until you have some money to get it done professionally if that's what you are aiming for
