xx Open GL ES Support on PSP ! | 09 Feb 10

Metismo has released an OpenGL ES library for the PSP. I’m talking fancy graphical features like: lighting, fogging; and to get more technical: vertex buffer objects, uncompressed, palletized and additional DXTC compressed textures, fixed and floating point data type adherence, and internal vertex array conversion to optimal PSP formats. Over your head? Mine too. Nevertheless — them graphics will look so fresh and so clean when they’re OpenGL ES-ified.

Now if you’re a developer you’ll likely see the potential dopeness of this library; however, I’m not sure whether it’s commercial grade or if it’s free to the masses… I can’t find a public download anywhere.

Furthermore, John Chasey, CEO of Metismo, quotes –

So we all like shiny things correct? Obviously we all like shiny things aside for the after thoughts of fingerprints, smudges & dust. However the thought of shiny things still make us droll. So now let’s add in transparency. Now because we wouldn’t be Acid Mods unless LEDs were included somehow, what would you think if I told you that the spectacular laptop that was displayed at CES by Samsung with the glorious transparent OLED monitor is slated for retail in the first half of the year, in the US. Sadly a European release of availability has yet to be confirmed.

This spectacularly gorgeous IceTouch’s Korean creators at Samsung are very ambitious about this technology. Not only is the tech sexy I am sure we’ll all find the estim...

PS3 Still Bleeding Money Just Not As Much
by, aquatsr

According to a report by the New York Times Sony's finances are back in black due to restructuring of the company.

Despite this, a closer look at financial publications reveals that on average Sony still incurs a loss of six cents for every dollar on the Playstation 3. Assuming a console is sold for $300, that means that each sale still costs Sony $18.

However, this is a far cry from when the Sony first debuted the PS3, when initial costs were estimated to be $807 per unit.

With further cost cutting measures promised by the company, Son...

It is time for a TwisTed chemistry class. Ladies & Gentlemen do you know what the element germanium is? Well germanium is a brittle, crystalline, gray-white metalloid element used as a semiconductor. It was discovered by Clemens Winkler in my country of birth, Germany in the year 1886.

Now you may be wondering “Mr. TwisT why do I care about this?” Well the answer is simple you probably don’t just yet. Germanium is used as a semiconductor as an alloying agent, in things such as guitar amplifiers and things like camera & microscope lenses.

Now you might be a little more interested. However we are still not quite on topic so now I will explain in further detail why this old metalloid is of interest to you.

Do you have a Slingbox?  Do you have an iPhone?  Do you have the Sling Player app or 30 bucks to spare?  Well you're in luck because AT&T has officially stated that a new, optimized Sling Player will be able to stream over 3G.  Fearing that the app in its original state would bring AT&T's network down, Apple decided that the app would only work over wifi, the same as your laptop, making the app virtually useless.  Now AT&T is testing the optimized Sling Player stating that it “dynamically adjusts the bandwidth based on network conditions and picture quality”  which in theory should work great!

Only when the app is released will we know for sure if it works well enough, of course the time we will find out is when we absolu...
